CITY-WIDE PLANT EXCHANGE
This year will be the 21st annual City-Wide Plant Exchange at the Festival of Flowers. It’s the largest plant exchange in Texas when more than 1,000 plants are traded every year between 9am and 3pm. After 3, left-over plants are sold at rock-bottom prices.

2019 DAYLILY SHOW
May is the peak time for Daylily blooms and members of the San Antonio Daylily Society will present their 5th Festival of Flowers show. Beautiful cut blooms will be on display. People visiting the show vote for their favorites. Society members will be selling daylilies to grow, and will be available to answer your questions.
FLORAL DESIGN CHALLENGE
10 creative flower arrangers—all members of San Antonio Garden Center.
Their challenge: create a design using only the flowers they first see when they arrive at the Festival of Flowers that morning—flowers donated by San Antonio Flower Co. You can vote for your favorite arrangement throughout the day, and one designer will be the victor. But during the day, they will be available to talk to you about the art of floral design, and how you can sign up for Garden Center’s Floral Design classes this fall and Spring, 2019.
If you would like to participate in the Challenge, contact anne@anneschiller.com. Click here for entry guidelines.
HERB KITCHEN
Expert herb growers and chefs join forces to create herb-cooking demonstrations for sampling throughout the day. This talented group are members of the San Antonio Herb Market Association, who annually sponsor the San Antonio Herb Market in October, and Basil Fest each May.

PLANTS THAT THRIVE IN SAN ANTONIO
You must see them to believe that there are so many choices for gardening success in the San Antonio area.
Each year, veteran gardener Sir Oliver Smith assembles dozens of native and adapted plant specimens that home gardeners can count on to produce dazzling, water-saving and heat-tolerant landscape results. We all know him as “Smitty”, and he and his team of knowledgeable plant volunteers will be available all day to answer your questions.
